100 Things Your Kids May Never Know About

100 Things Your Kids May Never Know About
  • Inserting a VHS tape into a VCR to watch a movie or to record something.
  • Standard-definition, CRT TVs filling up half your living room.
  • The scream of a modem connecting.
  • Blowing the dust out of a NES cartridge in the hopes that it’ll load this time.
Definitely worth a read for some pre-nostalgia.

PS. big shoutout to my homegirl/fiancee! love you like a fat kid love cake. i'll be with home soon.

recipesecrets

RecipeSecrets.net - "...A KFC devotee who ditched his Wall Street job in a quest to unravel the food giant's best-kept secret says he's finally figured out a recipe that is identical to Colonel Sanders' 11 herbs and spices..."

Lots of wack, wack shit there. Big Mac sauce, heaps of secret recipes...
Good for novelty, but somehow I doubt I'll ever try any of this shit.

EXOvault Metal iPhone Cases.

Handmade solid metal iPhone cases. I'll take one in Titanium thanks.
I'm not sure about this trend of ruggedizing consumer electronics, but at least with a phone, it kinda makes sense.

Bertone Carabo Concept (1968)

Presented at the 1968 Paris Motor Show, the Bertone Carabo was a futuristic sportscar based on the Alfa Romeo 33 chassis. Designed by Marcello Gandini, it featured original solutions such as scissor doors and multi-coloured glass windows.

While the design is really dated, it does paint a picture of what people then expected "the future" would hold.

I see a lot of potential for the back half of the car - that translates well and would make for an interesting source of inspiration in a current design.

Monticello

Monticello was Thomas Jefferson's home, originally on 5,000 acres of land (now 2,000, due to his lack of fund management skills)
It's preserved to this day and has some interesting ideas on how to use space - The bedroom is a great example of this.
Also shows he did shit without having an especially good reason (which I think is a typically Male trait) - as shown by his dome room. Completely useless.
About the only purpose I can see for the room is as a harem, with a large circular bed upon which his concubines resided.

Patio Oven - Rocal Plek 66

I found something I want at our (fiancee and I's) new pad!
Here's the manufacturer's (Rocal) blurb:
Plek66 barbecue is ideal for lofts, houses and places where space and design play an important role. Designed for those seeking a new concept in functionality.

But that doesn't say much - pictures speak louder.
Click the image to check out the page and perhaps see why I'm Big Kev-excited about it.

Coming Soon: Photographic Memory in a Pill?

100 Essential Skills for Geeks
Piaggio MP3 Hybrid: world's first plug-in lithium ion hybrid vehicle launched in Europe - Great... a green version of the most retarded vehicle ever sold. I've seen these around, and I find them a little confusing to say the least. Doesn't a wide-ass scooter you can't park on footpaths kinda defeat the purpose? no lane-splitting, no free parking everywhere, a lot less nimbleness... Shit.
